He's well-known for his most recent work filming the Black Pink Lisa's dance cover for ‘Lilifilm Official’. See how he expresses his artistry as he collaborates with Tribute and Jessi. We now dive into hearing about his perspective on working with Tribute and Jessi, experiences in the industry, and upcoming projects.

How was working with Tribute as a Creative?

Working with Tribute as a creative was an awesome experience. They gave me the chance to use a lot of my own creativity and judgement on how to execute this project on the video end. Basically I was allowed to simply “do me” which at many times isn’t always an option in the film industry. I really appreciated that.

What was it like working with JESSI?

Working with Jessi was such a great time. What I appreciated the most was that she is always ok with being herself in any situation, which made shooting her a much more exciting process. While shooting her, I honestly didn’t have to give her much direction. Everything she naturally did just worked perfectly for what I was looking for. In general, working with her was easy and fun. She also had me laughing the entire time haha.

Where did you get your inspirations for this collaboration?

For this collaboration I was able to use a lot of ideas I had from my own personal videos I shoot to Lo Fi music. I always love playing with film grain and other kinds of fx to make things look more vintage and retro. It’s more of a vibe for me and Tribute loved that aesthetic as well.

How did you come into this line of work?

It’s a really long story but I once danced in a Kpop Music Video back in 2012. Back then I was only a dancer, but also had a lot of video editing experience from doing AMV’s (Anime Music Videos) as a kid. From meeting the film crew, Zany Bros, I was inspired to become a filmmaker like them. Thereon, I ventured into the kpop world of Music Videos and decided to combine my different styles of AMV’s, dance videography, indie filmmaking all into one. Years later I ended up living in Korea as a freelancer doing filmmaking and dance for a living.

What is your go-to equipment?

For my equipment, I always shoot on the Black magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (pretty long name I know.. lol) For editing and coloring I use Davinci Resolve. For my smooth shots I shoot on a gimbal, DJI RS2. If I’m shooting outdoors, I typically have my drone with me as well, DJI Mavic Pro 2.

Do you have any upcoming projects that you want to tell us about?

I soon have some work coming out with a new Kpop group called “Luminous”. With them I was able to choreograph and film their video which was a first for me. I’m pretty excited to share that one.

Anthony really gave this campaign more depth as he describes where he derived his inspirations and how he developed his ideas as he was able to freely express his creativity. It was really refreshing to hear more about the campaign from a creative who works behind the scenes.
